Beginners Blacksmithing at Cherry Mountain Farm

Beginners Blacksmithing at Cherry Mountain Farm

In collaboration with Cherry Mountain Farm and General Store:

Night Owl Iron Works was established in 2016 by Jordan Jackson. Focusing on traditional blacksmith techniques and working with the local community Night Owl has found great success providing quality, handmade products for businesses and individuals alike.

In June of 2021, Jordan won the Forged in Fire Championship on The History Channel’s special episode, “Forge of Fear”

Jordon will be offering two different classes:10am – Noon “Forge your own J-Hook” – Each one-on-one session will last approximately 10 minutes. Each participant will leave with their fully finished and usable j-hook which can be used indoor/outdoor. 1pm – 4pm “Forge your own Horseshoe Knife” – Each session will last approximately 30 minutes. Each participant will leave with their fully finished horseshoe knife.

In both classes you will learn basic forging techniques and will have a knife that can last for several generations.

In 2019 Rachel Jackson joined The Night Owl Team and began offering custom leather work.

Focusing on functionality, attention to detail and superior artistry Night Owl Iron Works has continued to grow thanks to a renewed interest in a timeless craft.

After the workshop, take a stroll around the farm to see the friendly Kune Kune pigs, goats, dogs, and horse that call Cherry Mountain Farm home and definitely don’t forget to do a little shopping at the on-site general store which is bursting with all kinds of goodies, gifts, and knick knacks.

Craig and Debbi have over a decade of experience as farmers and have put a lot of love and care into what they do.
