As a working blacksmith and leathercraft shop in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, we create premium, small-batch goods using time-honored techniques that prioritize durability, functionality, and superior craftsmanship.

Traditional Blacksmithing Techniques

Our ironwork is forged using traditional blacksmith methods refined over centuries. Steel is heated, shaped, hammered, and finished by hand—ensuring structural integrity and one-of-a-kind character in every piece.

Owner and master blacksmith Jordan Jackson, winner of the Forged in Fire Championship (History Channel, “Forge of Fear”), leads our metalwork production with precision and discipline rooted in authentic craftsmanship. From architectural ironwork to custom metal fabrication, every weld and hammer strike reflects our commitment to quality.

Custom Leather Craftsmanship

In 2019, Rachel Jackson expanded Night Owl Iron Works to include custom leather work, adding another dimension to our artisan studio. Each leather piece is cut, stitched, and finished by hand using premium materials selected for strength and longevity.

Our handmade leather goods are designed with the same philosophy as our ironwork—functional, durable, and timeless. Attention to detail and superior artistry guide every step, from pattern creation to final burnishing.
